It was "standing room only" April
15th at the MARS Music superstore in Nashville, TN, as legendary
guitarist and
Epiphone endorsee
Jeff "Skunk" Baxter of Steely Dan and Doobie Bros. fame
conducted one of his equally famous clinic / workshops / performance
/ rap-sessions. Performing with his signature Epiphone
acoustic/electric featuring the new made in the USA Epiphonic-Six
electronics, Baxter entertained the enthusiastic crowd with not only
some blistering lead solos but also with "the art of great rhythm
guitar playing".
Accompanying him was renown session guitarist
Bobby Cochran
(nephew of Eddie Cochran,
"Summertime Blues") also playing a Jeff Baxter acoustic/electric.
Bobby is also known for his work with Leon Russell, Steppenwolf,
Flying Burrito Bros., and Bobby and the Midnights with Bob Weir,
Billy Cobham, Alphonso Johnson, Dave Garland and Kenny Gradney..
In addition to some great music, Baxter fielded
questions from the audience and covered a number of topics ranging
from his work with Steely Dan and the Doobies to insights into the
world of session work to his work with the Department of Defense.
The one-and-a-half hour clinic with the Epiphone endorsee was just
one of the many appearances Baxter makes every year promoting
Epiphone. As always, stay tuned for updates regarding the "Skunk"
coming to your town.
